Assemblies of God World Missions (AGWM) is a global church‑planting agency aiming to reach unreached people with the gospel. They serve in closed countries where Christianity is illegal.

The Challenge

AGWM needed a custom mobile app to distribute the Bible and discipleship content safely in hostile regions. The goal was to equip local believers with Scripture and training, even offline, while keeping missionaries secure.

The Solution

Built by the agency Prominent as a bespoke project. It used Ionic/Capacitor/Vue.js on AWS for rapid cross-platform deployment [goprominent.com].

The app delivers the Bible in multiple languages with interactive study guides, all fully offline. It encrypts content at rest and in transit, and even has a “self-destruct” emergency code that wipes the app to disguise it if needed [goprominent.com]. Users can share the app itself via Bluetooth or SMS (APK files) for viral distribution. A sophisticated AWS backend allows leaders to upload new lessons in any language [goprominent.com].

Results & Growth

The platform vastly extended AGWM’s reach. It is now in use in 5 languages (with 20 more planned) and has been adopted by other mission organizations for secure content delivery [goprominent.com].
